Retirement Living & Transition Support offers calm, practical guidance for older adults and families who are beginning to explore retirement living or preparing for a move. Whether someone is just beginning to wonder if retirement living might be right for them, or a move has already become necessary, the process can feel overwhelming. I take the time to listen, understand what matters most, explore the options, and help make the path forward feel clearer and more manageable.
Support may include researching retirement residences that match your needs, comparing options, preparing for and accompanying you on selected tours, helping with downsizing and move preparation, coordinating aspects of the transition, and providing support as you settle into your new home.
Aging in Place
Aging in Place support provides thoughtful guidance and personalized support for older adults who wish to remain safely, comfortably, and confidently in their own home for as long as possible. We understand every situation is unique, so our support is designed around the individual’s needs, routines, preferences, and overall wellbeing.
Support may include looking at ways to make the home safer and easier to navigate, exploring helpful services or adaptations, organizing everyday spaces, and creating a personalized plan that supports comfort, independence and confidence at home.
About Me
Shelley brings warmth, calm guidance and genuine respect to every older adult and family she supports.
Her approach to LumenLeaf grew from more than eight years of personally supporting her own mom through changing needs, appointments, advocacy, important decisions and eventually a move into retirement living. Through that experience, Shelley came to understand just how overwhelming it can be for older adults and their families to figure out what comes next — and how valuable it can be to have someone trusted beside them along the way.
Known for her calm, reassuring presence and ability to listen without judgement, Shelley believes older adults should remain involved in the decisions that affect their lives. Her role isn't to take over, but to listen carefully, understand what matters most to each person, help make the options clearer, and provide practical support when it's needed.
With a Diploma of Professional Counselling, Shelley brings professional training together with lived experience, empathy and a deep respect for dignity, choice and independence.
For added peace of mind, Shelley has completed an RCMP Vulnerable Sector Check, holds Emergency First Aid/AED Level C and FoodSafe certification, carries business liability and business-use automobile insurance, and maintains a clean driving record.
